I think everyone would agree that Maleny is a beautiful part of the Sunshine Coast and one of the most picturesque places in Queensland, and just an hour and a half drive from Brisbane makes it an idyllic choice for a wedding.
Aimee & Ryan had family and friends traveling from overseas as well as all over Australia, making Maleny the perfect location to show off a special part of Queensland and a weekend of celebrations.
Aimee got ready at Spicers Tamarind Retreat and I have to say I was blessed with beautiful weather and grounds offering lots of lush foilage for the photos – something that Im known to love using in my photography. Aimee looked simply elegant and I loved the one-strap detail on her dress. And sweet Ryan had secretly created a coffee table book of a collection of photos of their travels and life together as a gift for Aimee to open on the wedding day morning. Its always nice to run into other wedding vendors you have previously worked with so it was nice to see Nicola from Hair by Nicola again who did an amazing job on Aimee’s hair. KJ Artistry also did an amazing job creating Aimee’s upstyle.
It was then over to meet Ryan at Weddings at Tiffany’s for an intimate garden ceremony conducted by marriage celebrant Louise West who is a family friend. The view from the garden of Tiffany’s is quite spectacular and we were all quite surprised during the ceremony to have a fighter jet do a fly over, but then it was Riverfire Saturday – a little far from Brisbane but then I guess a run up to Maleny for a fighter jet is just a 10 minute stroll to fill in the afternoon before it needed to be back in Brisbane for the evening display.
For the location photos we naturally had to do some photos on the balcony of Tiffany’s with the amazing view in the background before we went for a drive to find a typical country dirt road and beautiful golden afternoon light.
On our way back to Weddings at Tiffany’s we stopped to do a photo with the sunset in the background and got out of the car to really strong winds but Aimee & Ryan were troopers getting out amongst the wind for some more photos before heading back to the reception where celebrations continued.
Being a wedding photographer you visit many reception venues, and I can thoroughly recommend Weddings at Tiffany’s as a wedding venue – the staff offered amazing service from beginning to end and their attention to detail is second to none, and with a view like that, its definitely has become one of my favourite Maleny wedding venues.
