Henzell’s Chapel Mount Pleasant | Dayboro Country Wedding of Sam & Matt

I was really looking forward to Samantha & Matt’s wedding as I had just returned from the Wedding & Portrait Photographers International {WPPI} photography conference in Las Vegas and got to sit in on a talk by one of my all time favourite international wedding photographer’s, Jose Villa. Jose Villa is a fine art wedding photographer that shoots film and has also been named one of the top ten wedding photographers in the world, so as you can imagine I was very inspired and eager to get my hands on my camera.

We all hope for blue skies on a wedding day and Im never one to dismiss an overcast morning to mean its going to be a wet and rainy wedding day as too many times have I seen the weather do a complete turn around, and Samantha and Matt’s wedding was another one of those. The morning was overcast and as I started the bridal prep photos it started to sprinkle but that was the last of it and we had a beautiful sunny afternoon, perfect for a country wedding in the Dayboro area which is less than an hours drive from Brisbane city but has some of the most picturesque scenery in Queensland.

Samantha and her mum had designed and sewn her wedding dress which had a vintage flavour with lace details combined with gorgeous Vivienne Westwood pink shoes with red love heart details. The girls looked amazing in their pastel coloured dresses, co-ordinated rustic bouquets and matching Vivienne Westwood shoes. The stunning flowers were by Wedding Flowers by Julia Rose on the Gold Coast.

The ceremony was held at the beautiful Henzell’s Chapel in Mount Pleasant. Samantha and her father arrived in a vintage Jaguar. I love tears at a wedding and I was certainly blessed with lots of tears { happy tears of course } from the stunning bride as she walked with arms locked with her fathers through the garden and into the chapel before greeting her groom.¬† It was one of those ceremonies that was both beautiful with emotion and funny at the same time.

Ive certainly been blessed with some awesome couples, bridal parties and families since becoming a professional Brisbane wedding photographer and this was definitely one of those. I had so much fun photographing this crew around the country property that Henzell’s Chapel is situated on and then a pit stop at Lake Samsonvale for some photos with just the couple before heading onto Keperra Golf Club for the reception where the couple had a photo booth ready for the guests to get some silly photos.

What a spectacular wedding day … I love the photos from this wedding and hope you enjoy the wedding day highlights coming your way …
