Byron View Farm wedding photography | Sophie & Nick

Get ready for this awesome Byron Bay wedding. I think it satisfies everything I like to photograph in a wedding and will visually satisfy all you viewers too.  Its most definitely obvious how in love Sophie & Nick are when you see them together.

The morning for me started with photographing the boys having a barbeque breakfast and as you will see that some eggs didn’t quite make it to the barbeque plate.

As I was welcomed by the ‘This is how our journey begins’ sign at the Byron View Farm’s gate, it started to rain lightly with dark clouds in the distance.  Being a beach wedding this obviously causes some concerns as to whether we change to the backup plan, but Sophie and Nick were adamant about having their beach wedding and their faith paid off, by the time I got to the ceremony the sun was shining. Yeah!!

The ceremony on the beach was styled by The Palace & Co with vintage chairs. Nick handmade the heart-shaped alter that was placed behind the couple { and tells me its available for hire now }.

Sophie looked absolutely stunning in her wedding gown detailed with blue shoes. Sophie also had a second dress to change into at the reception along with another pair of stunning shoes.

All the guests were transported to Watego’s Beach for the ceremony on The Magic Bus – another one of Sophie & Nick’s quirky ideas.

Nick’s heart was jumping out of his chest pocket for his gorgeous bride Sophie on his wedding day, well not quite so literally, but a felt covered heart full of stuffing is just one of many quirky ways in which Nick showed his love for his bride on his wedding day.

But for Sophie, she brought her favourite childhood character to life, White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland {played by Paul Brunger, civil marriage celebrant}.  White Rabbit ran around singing the famous words from the story “I’m late, I’m late” with a huge clock – most definitely entertaining and a huge surprise for the guests.  Sophie walked down the beach to the ceremony with her mum, sister and brother to Florence and the Machine’s Dog Days are Over. Following being announced for the first time as Mr & Mrs Murphy and walking back down the aisle they then took off down the beach before returning to the guests for congratulations.

I then whipped Sophie & Nick away for photos around Byron before we headed back to Byron View Farm to join the guests for a few drinks. Then it was off to Harvest Cafe in Newrybar for the celebrations, eating, drinking and dancing.

Ive babbled on enough but really words can’t describe how amazing Sophie & Nick’s wedding in Byron Bay was last month.  So best I tell the story of Sophie & Nick’s awesome wedding day through my wedding pictures as it really and truly was an awesome wedding … I was blessed with an awesome couple in Sophie & Nick who had put so much effort into personalising their wedding with unique and quirky pieces, daring to be different with their White Rabbit celebrant, we were blessed with brilliant weather, amazing afternoon light, not one but two vintage cars for me to play with during our photo shoot, one of which Nick and his Dad built from scratch together, and everyone was ready to have fun from the moment I walked in to the boys place for breakfast.

Thank you Sophie & Nick for choosing me to document your love story. From the moment I met you both I wanted this gig because you were so down to earth and had so many great ideas, plus I just had to be there to witness the White Rabbit celebrant in person :-).  I had an absolute blast with you guys and hope you enjoy viewing your wedding story through my eyes.
