Country style weddings always have a buzz about them, and I don’t know if its just because I always enjoy photographing people in the natural environment with an abundance of natural light or the fact they are always fun! Whatever the combining elements are, Monique & Tim’s wedding at Albert River Wines in Tamborine Mountain was certainly a fun wedding day.
I particularly love after the bride and groom preparation photos to be able to take the bride/bridesmaids and groom/groomsmen outside of their hotel/motel rooms for some portraits – it is not always possible depending on where the couple have chosen to get ready, but any chance I can I will take them outside for portraits. The main reason for this is space to work in (getting out of the cluttered hotel rooms is advantageous to the photos), the natural light and often finding a variety of backdrops to use for the photos.
I was quietly doing a happy dance at Monique & Tim’s wedding, because I had plenty of time with Tim and the boys to wander the grounds of Cedar Creek Lodges for their portraits. And again, Monique’s hair & makeup team had finished ahead of schedule, so we had heaps of time for portraits, rarely is that the case. I do find getting groups outside where there is room to move, makes the bridesmaids/groomsmen more comfortable when having photos.
We were then off to Albert River Wines for the ceremony where Monique & Tim exchanged vows in a garden setting with picturesque views of the countryside beyond.
Following bridal party location photos around the property, there was time for a few lawn games before heading into the wedding reception.
